I have been practising Kundalini yoga since 2014. In 2021 I felt the need to become a teacher to bring this practise to the community. I qualified with 3HO under the guidance of my teachers Pritam Khalsa and Patwant Rhodes. Kundalini is known for its transformative benefits, the practice  builds physical strength and stamina and enhances cognitive function, emotional fitness, and spiritual connection. Many people describe the experience as exhilarating, euphoric, and powerful.

Kundalini Yoga

In Kundalini Yoga the focus is on mantra, movement and the transformation of energy in your nervous and glandular systems. We practice kriyas – specific sequences of yoga postures, breath techniques, and meditations – to produce specific results. This could be something concrete, like vitality or better digestion, or something etheric like intuition or an open heart. Each kriya comes with precise instructions and includes the following components:

  • Asana: yoga postures

  • Mudras: hand positions

  • Pranayama: breathwork

  • Mantras: intentional, repeated sounds

  • Bandhas: constriction of a particular area of the body

  • Drishti: directing the gaze of the eyes

  • Shivasana: deep relaxation at the end of practice

Each Kundalini Yoga kriya is designed to be practiced as a complete yoga set for relaxation and rejuvenation of body, mind, and spirit.

Benefits of Asanas:

  • Isolates specific muscles

  • Pressurizes specific points or areas to enhance glandular and organ function

  • Re-directs , flushes or increases circulation

  • Creates a special link and foundation between mind and body

  • Releases emotional masking and blocks stimulated by posture

  • Open energy pathways between meridians

"This was an observational study designed to examine the poten- tial effects of a singing bowl meditation on mood, tension, anxiety, physical pain, and spiritual well-being. A significant difference was found in all endpoints examined in response to the meditation. The tension subscale in particular displayed highly signifi- cant effects for participants post-meditation, thus providing support to the hypothesis that a sound meditation would increase feelings of relaxation and decrease feelings of stress. Additionally, depressed mood and anxiety scores on the HADS were significantly reduced post-meditation compared with pre- meditation. Moreover, scores on the FACIT revealed increased feelings of spiritual well-being, as well as faith, immediately following the sound meditation. Thus, while less desirable mood states such as tension, anger, and depression decreased tension, especially for those who were previously naı¨ve to this type of meditation."
